Women's Volleyball Advance to OCAA Championship

(Windsor, ON)- The St. Clair women's volleyball team hosted an OCAA Playoff qualifier on Saturday afternoon and came away with a solid 3-0 win over the Algonquin Wolves (Ottawa) in front of a great crowd at the Sportsplex.

Set scores for St. Clair 25-15, 25-17, and 25-21.

Algonquin ended the season in 5^th place in the East Division with a record of 11-7 and ranked 10^th in Ontario.

Rookie middle Geneva Huisman (Amherstburg; Marantha Christian) led the way offensively with 10 kills on 14 attempts and 2 stuff blocks. Second year outside hitter Kiana Huggins (London; Saunders) had a big game as well with 11 kills on 23 attempts and 11 digs. Second year libero Mikayla Stocks (LaSalle; Sandwich Secondary) had a great defensive game with 12 digs.

With the win St. Clair advances to the OCAA Championship being hosted by Sheridan College in Oakville from February 23-25. The Saints will face the Seneca Sting in their quarterfinal match on Thursday afternoon. St. Clair is currently ranked 4^th in the OCAA while the Sting are ranked 5^th. Seneca ended the regular season with a record of 14-4 and in 2^nd place in the East Division.

The winner will advance to the semifinal on Friday. All matches will be live streamed on OCAA Live.
