St. Clair Men’s Basketball Move Win Streak to Six

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Basketball team moved their winning streak to six games after a 96-86 win over Redeemer University (Ancaster) Friday night at the SportsPlex.  The Saints now sport a 12-3 record which stands 2nd place in the OCAA's West Division.

A high scoring first quarter saw St. Clair take a modest 32-28 lead into the second as Redeemer shot nearly 70% from the field to keep pace.  St. Clair used some high wire action to excite the crowd with several dunks pushing their advantage to 55-49 by halftime.  The Saints kept the pedal down in the third and were up by as much as 20 points and settled for an 80-65 lead entering the final frame.  Redeemer continued to claw back and closed the gap to five points with just under 4 minutes to play.  However, St. Clair was able to respond and stave off the threat for the victory.

Redeemer shot a better percentage overall (51.6% to 47.4%) and from distance (34.5% to 28%), but the Saints scored 30 points off 28 turnovers and outscored the visitors 56-38 from inside the paint.

Jalen Harmon (Ypsilanti, MI) had one of his best games of the season scoring a game high 24 points and added 4 rebounds for St. Clair.  Jesiah Deerr (Whitby, ON) continued his steady play off the bench for the Saints with 18 points to go with 7 rebounds.  Terence Williams (Windsor, ON) scored 14 points for St. Clair with teammate Shakael Pryce (Pickering, ON) filling the stat sheet after 13 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists for the near triple double.  Darnelle Peddie (Pickering, ON) chipped in with 10 points for the Saints.

The St. Clair Men play their final regular season home game Saturday against Humber College (Etobicoke) at 4:00pm.
