Football Is Back - St. Clair To Host Quinte in Home Opener

Windsor, ON – The newly branded St. Clair College Saints Football team begin their 2022 OFC season at home Saturday night against the Quinte Skyhawks (Belleville) with kickoff set for 7:00pm at the SportsPark's Acumen Stadium.

St. Clair was undefeated (8-0) last season before falling in the Ontario final but have a reloaded roster of talent looking to chase the provincial title.  OFC Coach of the Year honours went to St. Clair's Mike LaChance in 2021 and he returns key pieces including Dante Lewis (Windsor, ON) who was named the league's Return Specialist of the Year after picking up 410 yards on 20 punt returns to go with 2 touchdowns but added 341 yards and another major score on 13 kick-off returns.

Joining Lewis in the receiving corps is Jared Hayes-Williams (Windsor, ON) who will be counted on for yardage and scores on the offensive side of the ball.  Making holes and pass protecting for the St. Clair offensive line will be 2-time Ontario All-Star selection Corey Levesque (Tecumseh, ON).

Returning on defense are 2021 OFC All-Stars in Linebacker Josh Allen (LaSalle, ON) and Defensive back Billy Patterson Jr. (Windsor, ON).

Making his debut on the offensive line for the Saints is 6'5" 345lbs Ezzat Elnagmi (London, England, UK) who has impressed the coaches so far in the pre-season.  Fellow countryman 6'1" 225lbs Olamide Adegbite (London, England, UK) will be featured on the Defensive Line while American imports 6'0 265lbs Lorenzo Blake (Columbus, Ohio) and 6'3 235lbs Tynan Braymiller (Mesa, Arizona) will add to a formidable front line.

The Skyhawks were 2-6 in their inaugural season of 2021 finishing in 4th place before losing to St. Clair in the OFC semi-finals.

At Saturday night's home opener, the first 250 fans will receive a St. Clair Football t-shirt sponsored by the Saints Student Athletic Association.
