St. Clair Fratmen Move to 7-0 After GTA Win

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair Fratmen moved their Ontario Football Conference leading record to 7-0 after blanking the GTA Grizzlies 71-0 at Acumen Stadium on Halloween Sunday afternoon.

St. Clair struck quickly when Michael Beale (LaSalle, ON) found Jared Hayes-Williams (Windsor, ON) with a 27-yard pass in the right corner of the endzone just over a minute into the contest.  Fratmen kicker Jake Holloway (Franklin, Tennessee) made a 30-yard field goal soon after and on the next possession Enzey Youyoute (Niagara Falls, ON) picked of an errant GTA pass and ran it back 75 yards to the house.  Dante Lewis (Windsor, ON) took a punt back 97 yards for another touchdown and the rout was in full swing.  Jacob Savoni (Amherstburg, ON) then rushed 47 yards for another major and then the defense struck again with a QB sack and forced fumble by Braeden MacDougall (Windsor, ON) that was scooped up by Josh Allen (LaSalle, ON) in the endzone for another score.

St. Clair found themselves up 38-0 after the first quarter but added a Holloway field goal along with a 9-yard strike from Beale to Hayes-Williams for their second hook-up of the game before the half.  Holloway scored a rouge on the ensuing kickoff for a comfortable 49-0 intermission advantage.

Holloway repeated the same feat to open the third quarter before more scoring came from the defense when Billy Patterson Jr. (Windsor, ON) returned an interception 45 yards for an endzone celebration.  Savoni then scored his 2nd major of the game on a 36-yard run before Dan Mailloux (Tecumseh, ON) was able to get a short pass to Dylan Samuels (Windsor, ON) and a 1-yard touchdown to end the scoring.  The teams played a quiet and scoreless final frame.

Savoni finished with 137 yards on the ground to go with his 2 touchdowns on just 5 carries.  Beale needed just 8 completions on 12 attempts for his 2 touchdowns accounting for 129 yards in the air but added a pick.  Hayes-Williams was the leading Fratmen receiver with 74 yards on 4 catches while scoring twice.  David Reaume (Cottam, ON) had a nice game rushing for 42 yards on 5 carries.

Patterson Jr. was the leader defensively with a pair of interceptions adding 3 tackles and broke up several other passing plays.

Holloway converted all 9 touchdowns while adding two kickoff singles and two field goals in the win while splitting time in the defensive backfield.

The Fratmen host the Hamilton Hurricanes (4-3) in their final regular season game on Saturday at Acumen Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 7:00pm.
