Women’s Cross Country Take Third in Scarborough

Scarborough, ON – The St. Clair College Cross Country team competed in their fourth event of the season on Saturday at the Colts Invitational Meet hosted by Centennial College adjacent to their campus in Scarborough at the Ashtonbee Reservoir Park.  The Saints were third as a team in the Women's race and placed seventh in the Men's competition. 

Victoria Horrobin (Wallaceburg) paced the St. Clair Women again crossing the line in 5th Place having completed the 6km course in a time of 25:20.  Camryn Crawford (Kemptville, ON) was 12th in a time of 26:36 with teammate Melody Knight (Tecumseh, ON/Tecumseh Vista) finishing next in 16th position stopping her clock at 27:35.  The final counting runner for the Saints was Justine Abbott (Wyoming, ON) in 22nd Place who had a time of 28:11 in a field of 53 runners.  The other finishers for the St. Clair Women were Kendra Bell (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) in 30th Place (29:07), Victoria Skoyles (Mount Elgin, ON) in 32nd Place (29:29) and Jillian Stratichuk (Belle River, ON/St. Anne) in 39th Place (30:39).

The Men's 8km race featured 75 competitors and Russell Niedre (Ottawa, ON) led the Saints with a 26th Place finish in a time of 29:38 with teammate Wesley Hearn (Windsor, ON/Sandwich) close behind him in 28th position (29:44).  Michael Horrobin (Wallaceburg, ON) was 32nd in 30:17 with Nicholas Horrobin (Wallaceburg, ON) clocking in at 30:22 (34th Place).  Other finishers for St. Clair were Noah Nicoletti (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) in 30:42 (38th Place) and Cameron Finch (Forest, ON) who crossed in 33:25 (51st Place).    

The St. Clair Cross Country team will begin their final preparations for the OCAA Provincial Championships on Oct. 28th which is being hosted by Conestoga College (Kitchener) at Shade's Mills Conservation Area in Cambridge.
