St. Clair College Cross Country Fill Roster with Incoming Class

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Cross Country team wasted no time filling the void left by the graduation of several runners with some top end distance runners in preparation for the 2023 season.

The Saints welcome 5'10" Cameron Finch (Forest, ON) who is a North Lambton Secondary product and won a LKSSAA Individual Bronze medal this past fall.

Saints Head Coach Paul Boots complimented, "Cameron is a multi-sport athlete in track and cross country and one of the best distance runners in Lambton County who is coming off a podium finish this season."

Boots continued, "Cameron's work ethic and positive attitude is what every coaching staff wants in a student-athlete.  We are excited to see what Cameron brings to the team next season."

Finch will be enrolled in St. Clair's Motive Power Technician program starting this fall.

St. Clair is picking up three top local competitors including 6'0" Wesley Hearn (Windsor, ON/Sandwich), 5'6" Noah Nicoletti (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) and 5'1" Kendra Bell (Windsor, ON/Holy Names).

Hearn competed on the club side with Windsor Legion in addition to helping Sandwich to WECSSAA and SWOSSAA titles.  He was a former rookie of the year award winner at Sandwich after some podium finishes and will be enrolled in the Paramedic program at St. Clair.

Boots said about the Hearn pick-up, "Wesley has been a local standout in both track and cross country throughout his high school career and is one of the top 10 local runners in the Essex County area having competed at both the provincial and national level.  He is a welcome addition to the team and will make an immediate impact."

Nicoletti will be studying in St. Clair's Architectural Technology program and Boots noted, "Noah has improved year over year during his high school career and has recently increased his winter training.  He will continue to improve as he enters his last year of high school track."

Boots added, "Noah is an excellent student and has used his passion for cross country to learn what it takes to be successful at the college level.  We are fortunate to have Noah at St. Clair."

Bell is another Holy Names student-athlete moving into St. Clair's Pre-Health Science program starting next fall.

"Kendra is a multi-sport athlete who the coaching staff feels will improve significantly once she has an opportunity to concentrate on cross country," said Boots.

Boots finished, "We think Kendra will be right in the mix with the team as the girls are coming off a team Silver Medal at last year's Provincial Championships."
