Women's Volleyball Advance to Final 8

(Windsor, ON) The St. Clair Women's volleyball team has qualified for the OCAA Quarterfinals. The Saints (2nd West Division) defeated the George Brown Huskies (7th East Division) 3-0 on Saturday afternoon at the Sportsplex in playoff action to earn their way to the Final 8.

Set scores for the Saints were 25-12, 25-23 and 25-15.

St. Clair was led offensively by third year middle Geneva Huisman (Amherstburg; Maranatha Christian Academy) with 11 kills including a .400 kill percentage and 2 stuff blocks. Second year outside hitter Brianne Hobbin (Guelph; Centennial CVI) had a big match as well with 7 kills and 3 service aces.

With the win the Saints will now host the La Cite Coyotes (3rd East) on Saturday, February 15th at 7 pm at the Sportsplex. The winner will advance to the OCAA Final Four.

The Coyotes finished 3rd in the East Division with a record of 13-5 and are ranked 4th in Ontario. The Saints were second in the West Division with a record of 16-2 and are ranked 2nd in Ontario and 11th in Canada.
