Women's Volleyball Improve to 10-3

(Welland, ON) - The St. Clair women's volleyball team continued their OCAA regular season schedule on Sunday afternoon as they travelled to Welland to take on the Niagara College Knights.  The Saints came away with a hard fought 3-1 win in a game that had big implications for playoff positioning.

Set scores for St. Clair were 23-25, 25-19, 25-17 and 25-22. 

Rookie middle Geneva Huisman (Amherstburg; Marantha Christian) led the way for the Saints with 9 kills, 1 service ace, and 3 stuff blocks. Second year outside hitter Kiana Huggins (London; Saunders Secondary) had a solid match as well with 7 kills, 2 service aces and 1 stuff block.

With the win St. Clair's record improved to 10-3 while Niagara fell to 8-5. The Saints are currently ranked 4th in Ontario while the Knights are ranked 7th.

The Saints are next in action this coming Friday when they host the Redeemer University Royals at the Sportsplex at 6 pm. Two $1000 scholarships will be given away to St. Clair College students during the matches.
