Women's Soccer Add Top Recruits

(Windsor, ON) The St. Clair College Department of Athletics and women's soccer program are pleased to announce the commitment of three top recruits for the upcoming season. Maddie Daabous, Payton Lessard and Allie Tales will be joining the team starting in September 2025.

Daabous is from London and is graduating from Saint Andre Bessette. Maddie is a 5'4" striker who will be enrolled in the Pre-Health Science program with plans to move on to the Bachelor of Nursing Degree. Daabous has an extensive amount of successful club experience with the London Whitecaps where they were the first place team in the OPDL West Division.

Maddie is excited to join the St. Clair program. "I chose St. Clair College because it offers a great mix of strong academics and athletic opportunities. The coaching staff have been nothing short of outstanding. They take great pride in their work and are always willing to go the extra mile to assist students, whether it's with academic guidance or personal support. It's clear that they genuinely care about your success."

Lessard is from St. Thomas and attends Parkside Collegiate Institute. Payton is a 5'7" midfielder who will be taking the Pre-Health Science program with plans to advance to the Bachelor of Nursing Degree. Lessard also has a large amount of club experience playing for the London Whitecaps in the OPDL.

Payton is looking forward to her time as a Saint. "I chose to go to St. Clair College because it offers an outstanding combination of academic excellence and athletic opportunities. Committing to St. Clair's women's soccer team allows me to pursue my passion for the sport while benefiting from a supportive and dynamic learning environment. The amazing coaches at St. Clair are dedicated to helping each player reach their full potential, both on and off the field."

Tales is also from St. Thomas and is also graduating from Parkside. Allie a 5'9" striker who will be enrolled in the Pre-Service Firefighting program. Tales has an extensive amount of successful club experience with the London Whitecaps and London TFC highlighted by a Silver Medal in 2024 in League 1 Ontario Women's Reserve Division.

Allie is looking forward to joining Saints Nation. "I chose St. Clair College for its strong soccer program and its excellent reputation in training future firefighters. The opportunity to compete at a high level in soccer while also gaining the skills and knowledge necessary for a career in firefighting is the perfect fit for me. St. Clair College offers the perfect balance of hands-on, real-world training and an outstanding athletic environment that I'm thrilled to be a part of."

Head Coach, Steve Vagnini is pleased to add these three women to the program.  "The minute I met these three women, I knew they belonged at St. Clair. They bring talent, teamwork and work ethic to a program that thrives on those specific values."

The Saints indoor soccer team just won OCAA Bronze at the Championships in Toronto while the outdoor team finished in second place in the OCAA West Division this past season with a record of 7 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie.
