Women's Soccer Win Home Opener

The St. Clair College women's soccer team started their OCAA regular season on Sunday afternoon with a convincing 8-0 over the Sheridan Bruins (Oakville) at Acumen Stadium.

The Saints got off to a great starting scoring three quick goals in the first 11 minutes and never looked back from there.

Victoria Walsh (Georgetown; Christ the King) and Alexa Mognon (LaSalle; Assumption) led the way with 2 goals and an assist each. Leah Burrell (Windsor; Brennan) also had 2 goals with singles going to Abby Redmond (Tecumseh; L'Essor)and Brianna Kinsley-Clough (Georgetown; Christ the King). It was a solid all around defensive effort by the St. Clair women only allowing 3 shots on goal.

Keepers Scotlyn Fick (Belle River, Belle River)and Lilly Estephan (Windsor, Brennan) split time in the net to earn the clean sheet as the Saints outshoot the Bruins 25-4.

St. Clair is next in action on Saturday, September 16th when they travel to London to take on rival Fanshawe College at 12 pm.
