Bio

Silva joins the St. Clair Women’s Basketball coaching staff in the 2022-23 season having compiled an extensive amount of local experience in a relatively short period of time. 

Silva started her coaching career at the club level with the Windsor Valiants in 2015 working with U11 (2015-16) and U12 (2016-17) as an assistant before balancing the U13 team as an assistant along with the U12 team as a Head Coach in 2017-18.  She then spent the summer of 2018 assisting with the OBA Ontario Summer Development Program (OSDP) U15 Boys team.  Silva worked with the Tecumseh Saints program in 2018-19 as an assistant before helping the St. Clair Stars U15 Girls JUEL Prep team in 2019-20.  She then spent a year as an assistant on the bench at the University of Windsor in 2021-22.

Her coaching involvement at the high school level includes assisting at Holy Names Catholic Secondary School with the Junior and Senior Girls since 2018 in addition to a year assisting the Junior Boys at St. Joseph’s Catholic Secondary School in the 2018-19 season. 

Silva is a Windsor native who graduated from Holy Names (2011) and the University of Windsor with an Honours bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics in Movement Science and a Minor in Psychology (2015).  She then went on to attain a bachelor’s degree in Education of the 2-year Teacher’s College Program (2017) from Windsor. 

Silva’s playing background includes seven years for the Windsor Valiants club program and four years at Holy Names.
