Bio

Kiss is a Windsor native and took the helm of the Varsity Women’s Basketball program starting in the 2013-14 season.  He has led the Saints to the playoffs and the OCAA Championships in all seven of his seasons finishing no worse than 5th place in the West Region regular season while compiling a 0.685 winning percentage.  Kiss has collected three OCAA provincial medals including a Bronze in his first year (2014) and back to Silvers in 2019 and 2020 along with two appearances at the CCAA National Championship tournament.  Kiss was the 2019-20 recipient of the St. Clair Inter-Collegiate Coach of the Year Award which is presented annually to the Saints Varsity Head Coach whose teams exemplify a high level of performance, sportsmanship, dedication and leadership. 

Before St. Clair Kiss coached 27 years at St. Anne High School amassing 24 combined Championship victories at the highest level (AAA or AAAA), 16 WECSSAA Titles, 7 SWOSSAA Titles and 1 OFSAA Championship (2007 Senior Girls) in addition to an OFSAA Silver Medal (2006, Senior Girls Basketball) and an OFSAA Bronze Medal (2012 Senior Girls).  He was the recipient of the WECSSAA Tier I “Coach of the Year” (1999 & 2000), Ontario “Coach of the Year” (2006-07) and the OFSAA Leadership in School Sport Award (2013). 

Kiss is an NCCP Level II certified coach whose club experience includes 11 years with the Tecumseh Saints Basketball organization where he earned four Provincial Medals (2 Bronze, 1 Silver, 1 Gold).  The most recent medal performance was a Division II Gold Medal at the Major Midget Boys U16 level in May of 2013. 

His playing background includes a 1980 All-City and All-Canadian Selection at Windsor’s W.F. Herman High School, an Ontario Provincial Team Selection (1980), a full-ride Scholarship to Central Michigan University and 3 seasons at the University of Windsor (1982-84 & 1986).
