Bio

Dawson is a Wheatley, ON native and joined the Saints Softball Coaching Staff in 2019 after having coached locally for 14 years. He spent nine years with the Windsor Lady Expos, four with the Windsor Wildcats in addition to a season with the Amherstburg Cardinals covering age groups from mite through intermediate.  Dawson has helped his teams qualify for three Canadian Championships including one at the Novice level and two at the Bantam level.  Both those Bantam squads finished 5th in Canada out of 20 qualifying teams.

Dawson has led teams to qualify and attend two World Series events in the United States (Orlando, Florida 10U and Ocean City, Maryland 16U).  He also is currently serving as a Pool Coach and talent evaluator for Team Ontario in preparation for the 2021 Canada Summer Games.

Formerly a Baseball player in his youth he went on to win a pair Senior Canadian Championships with the famed Windsor Chiefs after earning a scholarship to play for Cleveland State University.  Dawson was later drafted as a pitcher in the 22nd round of the 1992 MLB June Amateur Draft, by the Houston Astros spending time with Auburn in the New York-Pennsylvania League (Short-Season A) and Quad Cities in the Midwest League (A).
