Men's Volleyball Move into First Place

The St. Clair College men's volleyball team wrapped up their OCAA home schedule for the fall semester with two convincing wins on the weekend.

On Saturday, the Saints hosted College Boreal (Sudbury) and came away with a 3-1 win. Set scores for St. Clair were 25-11, 27-29, 25-20 and 25-15.

Rookie outside hitter Matt Babineau (Windsor; St. Joseph's) led the way for the Saints with 17 kills, 1 stuff block, 4 service aces and 3 digs. Outside hitter Eric Glos (Tecumseh; Tecumseh Vista) had a solid match with 12 kills, 4 service aces, 1 stuff block and 12 digs. Setter Nick Kwiatkowski (Essex; Essex District) had a great match with 53 assists, 2 kills, 2 service aces and 1 stuff block. Boreal's record is now 1-10 on the season. 

On Sunday afternoon, St. Clair took on the Cambrian Golden Shield (Sudbury) and won 3-0. Set scores for the Saints were 25-23, 28-26, and 25-21.

Kale Wilkinson (Windsor; Riverside) led the way offensively with 15 kills, 1 stuff block and 6 digs. Arthur Richard (Woodstock; Woodstock Collegiate) also had a big game with 12 kills, 1 stuff block, 1 service ace and 3 digs.  Cambrian's record dropped to 6-5 with the loss.

The Saints are now 7-2 on the season with the two wins and are ranked 3rd in Ontario and 13th in Canada.

St. Clair will conclude their OCAA fall semester schedule at Sheridan on Saturday at 6 pm and at Humber on Sunday at 4 pm
