Men's Volleyball Upset Nationally Ranked Cambrian

(Windsor, ON)- The St. Clair men's volleyball team continued their OCAA regular season schedule at the Sportsplex on Saturday afternoon and walked off the court with another huge upset win by defeating the nationally ranked Cambrian College Golden Shield (Sudbury) 3-0.

Set scores for St. Clair were 27-25, 25-23, and 25-19.

Rookie outside hitter Kale Wilkinson (Windsor; Riverside) led the way offensively for the Saints with 13 kills, 2 stuff blocks and 6 digs. Rookie outside hitter Eric Glos (Tecumseh; Tecumseh Vista) also had a big match with 10 kills, 2 stuff blocks and 5 digs. Second year Libero Blake Harnadek (Cottam; Essex District) also had a great defensive match with 8 digs, 2 assists and some outstanding serve reception.

With the win St. Clair improved to on 7-8 the season while Cambrian dropped to 11-4. The Golden Shield are currently ranked 3rd in Ontario and 12th in Canada.

The Saints are back on the court on Sunday, February 5th  at 3 pm as they host the College Boreal Viperes in their final regular season home game. It will be Senior Day for St. Clair with the graduating Seniors being honoured prior to the match.
