Volleyball Teams Back on Home Court Saturday

Windsor, ON –  The St. Clair College women's and men's volleyball teams will be back on home court on Saturday afternoon to continue their OCAA regular season schedules to face the Humber College Hawks.

The women will take to the floor at 1 pm to face the top ranked Hawks. The St. Clair women are currently 5-1 on the season and ranked 4th in the OCAA. Humber is 5-0 and are ranked 1st in Ontario and 3rd in Canada.

The St. Clair women have spread their offense around well so far this season with four players very close in average points per set. Kiana Huggins (London; Saunders) is averaging 3.1 points per set followed by rookie Geneva Huisman (Amherstburg; Marantha) at 2.8. Chantel DeVlugt (Wyoming; LCCVI) and Ashley Maleyko (LaSalle; Villanova) are both averaging 2.6 points per set. The St. Clair setting duties have been split mainly by rookie Emma Clements (Windsor; Holy Names) and second year player Kate Williams (Georgetown; Georgetown District)

The men's game will begin after the women at 3 pm. The St. Clair men are 3-3 on the season so far while Humber is 3-2 and are ranked 7th in Ontario.

The Saints men have also had great depth for their offense as well with 5 players leading the way. Marc Galipeau (LaSalle; Sandwich) and Jonah Certossi (Belle River; Belle River District) are leading the way averaging 2.9 points per set. Rookie Eric Glos (Tecumseh; Tecumseh Vista) and Zach Walls (Amherstburg; Villanova) are both next at 2.5 points per set with rookie Kale Wilkinson (Windsor; Riverside) not far behind at 2.1 points per set. Nick Kwiatkowski (Essex; Essex District) has handled most of the setting role recently while Libero Blake Harnadek (Cottam; Essex District) has been playing some great defense leading the team with 2.4 digs per set.

Admission is $5 for adults and St. Clair Students are free.
