Men's Soccer Win First Ever National Medal

The St. Clair College men's soccer team won their first ever national medal on Saturday afternoon by defeating the Keyano College Huskies 4-1 at the CCAA National Championship at Acumen Stadium.

The bronze medal game was a rematch between the Saints and the Huskies. Both teams met on the opening day of matches with the Saints getting the win 3-1.

The Huskies were looking for some revenge as they had to go through the bronze medal bracket. The match started off well for the Saints as they dominated the play and were threatening to score. In the 36th minute, St. Clair was awarded a free kick just outside the top left of the 18-yard box. Riley Drkulec stepped up and blew the ball pass the keeper for the first goal of the match.

From then on, the Saints never looked back. They added a second goal right before the half time whistle thanks to Ezra Fogal. The Saints would then add two more goals in the second half courtesy of Tanner Page. The Huskies would get a goal in the 89th minute by Caleb Kehler.

The 4imprintcanada players of the game were Tanner Page and Dino Hronopoulos from Keyano.

St. Clair's Massimo Pollard was named a Tournament All Star as well as wining the Exemplary Leadership Award.
