Men's Soccer Punch Ticket to National Semi Final

Men's Soccer Punch Ticket to National Semi Final

(Windsor, ON) The St. Clair Saints took the field for the final quarter final match of Day 1 at the CCAA National men's soccer championship being hosted by St. Clair College at Acumen Stadium.

With a large crowd behind them and the adrenaline pumping the Saints used all of that to open the scoring up in the 3rd minute via a goal from Massimo Pollard (Windsor; Holy Names). The lead for the Saints did not last long as less than 10 minutes later the Huskies had a free kick at the top of the box when William Ly buried back post past Saints keeper Jonathan Rondinelli.

A common theme in the game was the yellow card. There were seven yellows cards issued in the match, five for the Saints and two for the Huskies. At the start of the second half, the Saints came out flying as they did to begin the match. However, with all the pressure from the Saints, the Huskies were doing a good job handling everything the Saints threw at them. That was until an own goal saw the Saints take the lead in the 74th minute. They then added a third goal in the 90th minute from Pollard which sealed their spot in the national semi-final match tomorrow against the Douglas Royals at 5:30pm at Acumen Stadium.

The 4imprint Players of the Game for each team were Pollard for the St.Clair Saints and Karl Tronche for the Keyano Huskies.
