Men's Soccer Fall to Top Ranked Conestoga

The St. Clair College men's soccer team continued their OCAA regular season on Saturday afternoon in Kitchener against Conestoga College and suffered a tough loss to the top ranked Condors by a score of 4-3. 

The Saints got off to a great start taking a 3-0 lead on goals by Moussa Nizam (Windsor; Kennedy) in the 9th minute, Massimo Pollard  (Windsor; Holy Names) assisted by Michael Zivcic (Windsor; St. Joseph's) in the 28th minute and Pollard again from Zivcic in the 34th minute. However, the Saints gave the Condors some momentum heading into half allowing a goal in the 38th minute.

The match took a big turn in the 49th minute when the Saint's Thomas Saba got a red card on a bad break for a hand ball on the goal line after the ball was shot directly at him. Conestoga scored on the penalty kick and took over from there as the Saints had to play down a man for 40 minutes allowing 2 more goals.

With the win Conestoga's record improved to 8-0 on the season. The Condors are ranked 2nd in Ontario and 5th in Canada.

With the loss the Saints record fell to 5 wins, 2 losses and 1 tie on the season. St. Clair is currently ranked 5th in Ontario.
