Men's Soccer Add Top Recruits

(Windsor, ON) The St. Clair College Department of Athletics and men's soccer program is pleased to announce the signing of three top recruits for the 2023-24 season. The men that will be joining the program are Seve Oglan, Antonio Vieira  and Artan Omrani.

Oglan is a 5'2" central midfielder from Windsor where he is graduating from St. Joseph's High School. Seve has extensive club experience playing for Windsor TFC L3 where they were 2019 and 2021 L3 regional champions. Oglan will be taking the three year Sport & Recreation Management program.

Oglan is excited to become a Saint. "I see a very successful future ahead of me with the environment of players and coaches at St. Clair. It is a competitive group that wants to win and I can't wait for the upcoming season and to compete for a national championship."

Head coach Mike Baraslievski is looking forward to Oglan's addition. "Seve is a very active and creative midfielder who will challenge defenders with his passing and dribbling skills."

Vieira is a 6'0" right back who hails from Brampton where he attended Cardinal Leger Secondary School.  Antonio has played club soccer for the ProStars FC and Croatia Norval SC for several years. Vieira will be taking the Fitness and Health Promotion program at St. Clair.

Antonio is looking forward to coming to St. Clair.  "I choose St. Clair because of their amazing programs regarding both studies and sports. The soccer program is outstanding in all aspects, and the coaching staff are amazing and very welcoming along with the players. From fitness areas, to physio, to tutoring, my family and I realized that St. Clair really cares about their student athletes. I can't wait to play in their amazing stadium and take part in the Fitness and Health Promotion Program."

Baraslievski feels Vieira will be a solid addition.  "Antonio's strength is his size and speed which will make him very effective on the outside as he can play in both a defensive role going forward and joining the attack and also as an attacking winger who is very responsible in covering back."

Omrani is a 5'10" midfielder from Brampton and is graduating from St. Augustine Secondary School. Artan also played club for the North Mississauga Soccer Club.  Omrani will be taking the three year Respiratory Therapy program.

Artan is thrilled to be joining the Saint's program. "St. Clair is a perfect fit for me academically and athletically. The facilities are the best in the country and the team will be very competitive."

"Artan is a very skilled and creative offensive threat who can finish plays with goals or assists for his teammates," noted Baraslievski.

Baraslievski feels all three players will be key as the Saints hope to compete for a National Championship as the host college in November 2023.  "We are very excited to have these three young men to add to our skill level and depth and push some of our veterans for playing time which will raise our level on the pitch."
