Men’s Basketball Too Much for Redeemer

Ancaster, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Basketball team won 85-57 in convincing fashion over Redeemer University in Ancaster Saturday night.  The Saints are now 6-2 which currently places them 2nd in the OCAA's West Division.

Chad Vincent-Simon (Scarborough, ON) led the Saints out of the gate with 10 points in the first quarter propelling his team to a 27-22 lead.  St. Clair went to work defensively before halftime forcing the home team into 10 turnovers in the second quarter and only allowed 5 field goals and 11 points by Redeemer for a 53-33 halftime spread.  The Saints coasted the remainder of the contest with eleven players recording a basket on the score sheet. 

St. Clair won all four quarters and held an advantage in every statistical category aside from rebounding.  30 Redeemer turnovers led to 24 points by the Saints who also made 10 triples in the game. 

A balanced St. Clair scoring attack was headlined by Jesiah Deerr (Whitby, ON) who came off the bench to record 16 points to go with 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Vincent-Simon and Shakael Pryce (Pickering, ON) each scored 15 points with Hanani Ujullu (Kitchener, ON) chipping in with 10 points while adding 7 rebounds for St. Clair.

Parker Davis (Hamilton, ON) was the only Royal in double figures with 14 points in the loss.

The Saints finish off their first semester regular season schedule on Sunday with a 3:00pm tip at Conestoga College (Kitchener).
