Golf Teams Off to Great Start

(Belleville, ON) The St. Clair College golf teams got off to a good start in their opening event of the OCAA season on Wednesday in Belleville at Black Bear Ridge Golf Resort.

Alyssa Cowling (Oldcastle; Villanova) had a great day shotting a 77 to win the women's individual title. Teammate Justine Gorham (Amherstburg; L'Essor) shot an 86 and the St. Clair women finished in 1st place 2 strokes ahead of Humber College.

The St. Clair men 's team finished in 3rd place out of 9 teams taking part. The Saints had a strong team outing with Cale Marontate (Harrow; Kingsville), Simon Moir (London; St. Thomas Aquinas), Spencer Higginbottom (Lakeshore; Tecumseh Vista), and Jack Zylstra (St. Thomas; St. Joe's) all tied for 10^th shooting 77.

The St. Clair Golf team is currently ranked 3^rd in Canada.

The Saints are next in action this weekend as they host the St. Clair Invitational at Ambassador Golf Club on Saturday and Roseland on Sunday.
