Golf Teams Start Season Sunday at Ambassador

The St. Clair College varsity golf teams will begin their season this Sunday as they host the St. Clair Invitational at Ambassador Golf Club starting at 8:30 am. Eight of the ten teams in the OCAA will be taking part in the event.

The women's team returns 2 of their 3 players with Shannon Coffey (Windsor; Brennan) and Megan Schaafsma (Essex; Essex District) coming back. They will be joined by rookie Justine Gorham (Amherstburg; L'Essor). The Saints won OCAA Silver last year.

The men's team will have a new look this year with 6 new players including transfer Spencer Higginbottom (Lakeshore; Tecumseh Vista) who spent time at Glendale Community College in Arizona. John Van Bilsen (Glencoe; Glencoe District) is the only returning player.

The Saints are also hosting the OCAA Championship at Ambassador from October 2-4.
