Coffey in Medal Hunt at Golf Nationals
(Oct 19) Ajax, ON- The St. Clair College women's golf team completed round two of the 2022 CCAA Golf National Championships presented by PING on Wednesday. The event is being played at Deer Creek Golf Club in Ajax Ontario and is being hosted by Durham College. It was another very cold, wet and windy day for the competitors.
Shannon Coffey (Windsor; Brennan) had another good round shooting an 81 on the par 72 course. After a slow start on the front nine shooting 42 she bounced back with a 39 on the next nine holes. She is currently tied for 4th place but only 4 strokes out of a silver medal with two rounds to play.
In the conference women's competition OCAA Team 2 which Coffey is a member of is in 4th place.
Sophia Fallea (LaSalle; Villanova) had a better day on Wednesday shooting an 82 to put her in 10th place at the halfway point of the championship.
