Saints Win Big Over GTA, Move to 3-0 on Season
Brampton, ON – The St. Clair Saints Football team continued their dominant start to the 2024 season with a 58-0 win over the GTA Grizzlies. This is the Saints second straight shut out and have now allowed just 7 points through the first 3 games, while having scored 178 points themselves.
In a game that saw the Saints score early and often, the Offense was once again led by Quarterback Maurice Sodja (Kentucky, Louisville) who had 3 passing touchdowns on 12-14 passing and throwing for 230 yards, he also added a 72-yard rushing touchdown. Running Back M.J Doyle-Marshall (Airdrie, Ab) had 4 carries for 150 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. Wide Receivers who caught touchdown receptions were; John Baya (Hamilton, ON), Cameron St. Kitts-Park (Oshawa, ON) and Riley Sagriff (Kingston, ON). Quarterback Matt Guenette (Windsor, ON) added a rushing touchdown of his own.
The Defense was anchored by Defensive Lineman Mo Ibraheem (Etobicoke, ON) who registered 5 tackles and 2.5 Tackles for Loss and Nick Carter (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) who had 4 tackles with 3 of them being Tackles for Loss. Linebacker Ryan Najim (Leamington, ON) registered his first interception of the season.
Next weekend is the much-anticipated Homecoming Game, where the Saints will take on the Hamilton Hurricanes Saturday, September 7th at 7:30pm. Football will be the finale for Saints Nation to enjoy following a Softball double header and both a Men's and Women's Soccer game.
