Saints Football with Another Undefeated Regular Season

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair Saints Football team wrapped up their regular season in fashion defeating the Quinte Skyhawks by a score of 56-7. With this win the Saints have now gone undefeated (8-0) in three straight seasons since moving to St. Clair College.

M.J Doyle-Marshall (Airdrie, AB) yet again led the charge on offense adding 3 more touchdowns to his season total. Doyle-Marshall had 2 rushing touchdowns and tallied a 54-yard receiving touchdown. Running Back Dante McPhail (London, ON) had a game high 88 rushing yards and added a touchdown. Running Back Gage Blasco (Lethbridge, AB) also had a rushing touchdown. An efficient passing game saw all 3 Quarterbacks get some action. Matt Guenette (Windsor, ON) was the leading passer going 6 for 9 with 150 yards and 2 touchdown passes. Maurice Sodja (Louisville, Kentucky, USA) was 4 for 8 throwing for 70 yards and a touchdown. Owen Mallot-Bennett (Chatham, ON) was perfect going 3 for 3. Touchdown receptions were caught by wideouts Darius France (Windsor, ON) and Tristan Rutherford (Windsor, ON).

The Saints Special Teams was not to be outdone, a short kick on the kickoff saw the ball take a high bounce when Nick Baeini (Leamington, ON) came out of no where to take the ball to the endzone for the touchdown. The defense was led by Defensive Back Tylin Davis (Windsor, ON) who led the team with 5 tackles. Linebacker Keewone Parker (Lansing, Michigan, USA) had a big game registering 2 tackles for losses and 5 assisted tackles. All-Canadian DB Nathaniel Norton (Windsor, ON) added another interception.

The Saints will now look to the OFC Playoffs as they take on the 4th place Ottawa Sooners in the OFC Semi-Final. Kickoff is set for this Saturday, October 14th at 7:00pm.
