Saints Blank Grizzlies 60-0 in Brampton

Brampton, ON – The Saints travelled to Chinguacousy Park in Brampton, Ontario on Sunday afternoon and defeated the GTA Grizzlies by a score of 60-0 to move to 5-0 on the season.

The rushing attack was put to work early and often as the Saints ran the ball 25 times for 253 yards and scoring 4 touchdowns. The touchdowns were scored by a stable of Running Backs led by M.J Doyle-Marshall (Airdrie, AB), Boriz Wright (Windsor, ON), Gage Blasco (Lethbridge, AB) and Nathaniel Tyszkiewicz (Toronto, ON). Wide Receiver Javier Lewis (Toronto, ON) extended his touchdown streak to 5 games as he caught a 28-yard touchdown pass from QB Maurice Sodja (Louisville, Kentucky, USA).

A plethora of young talent from the Saints offense and defense saw extended action throughout the game, many names who Saints Nation will get accustomed to over the years. Wide Receiver Daniel Bumbaco (Sault Ste. Marie, ON) scored his first career collegiate touchdown in style when he returned a punt for 112 yards for the score. Defensive Back Zach Zimmerman (Windsor, ON) also returned his first interception to the endzone for a 49-yard pick six. Two more interceptions recorded by DB Dujuan Johnson (Lasalle, ON) and newly acquired DB Gammy Kazadi (London, ON). Freshman Linebacker Carl Byrd (Peterborough, ON) registered 2 sacks in the game.

The Saints are back at Acumen Stadium next Saturday, September 23rd to take on the Ottawa Sooners. Kick-off is set for 7:30pm.
