Windsor, ON – The defending OFC Champions are set to open the season on the road in Ottawa as they take on the Sooners on Saturday, August 19th at 2:00pm.

After another undefeated season in 2022, the Saints have some unfinished business after falling in the CJFL National Semi-Final to Okanagan. With the cancellation of the season opener and a loaded Saints roster, the anticipation has grown to new heights for the 2023 season. Leading the Saints are three All-Canadian returnees in Defensive Backs Billy Patterson Jr. (Windsor, ON) and Nathaniel Norton (Windsor, ON). While OL Jaden Caston (Windsor, ON) will look to lead the Offensive Line.

A few key players returning with a chip on their shoulder heading into the season are OFC All-Star Linebacker Nick Brajkovic (Windsor, ON) and DL Mo Ibraheem (Etobicoke, ON) who will look to have a breakout year. On the offensive side of the ball QB Matt Guenette (Windsor, ON) and OL Ezzat Elnagmi (London, England, UK) will look to make strides. While Running Back MJ Doyle-Marshall (Airdrie, AB) and Wideout Javier Lewis (Toronto, ON) will have a massive impact in the rushing and receiving game.

Some anticipated debuts in a Saints uniform for both the offense and the defense this coming season. The defense will be anchored by Lincoln University transfer Keewone Parker (Lansing, Michigan, USA) who will wreak havoc on opposing offenses this year and will receive some help from the secondary in Ralph Michel (Ottawa, ON) and Tylin Davis (Windsor, ON). The Saints have added some big pieces on offense to replace their graduating players, Wide Receivers Zack Burmaster (Hamilton, ON) and Darius France (Windsor, ON) will look to make a huge impact while catching balls from Quarterback Maurice Sodja (Louisville, Kentucky, USA). Young Offensive Lineman Ryder Blasco (Lethbridge, AB) will balance out the O-Line.

The game will be streamed through Ottawa Sooners Facebook Livestream. Kick-off is set for 2:00pm.
