Saints Complete Undefeated Season with Dominating 62-0 Victory

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair Saints Football team completed their regular season schedule on Sunday with a 62-0 shutout victory over the visiting GTA Grizzlies (Toronto, ON). The Saints finish the season with a perfect 8-0 record and enter the playoffs as the #1 seed for the 2nd consecutive season.

The Saints dominated the game from the opening kickoff as they outscored the Grizzlies 21-0 in the first quarter and took a commanding 45-0 lead into halftime. The story of the game for the Saints was their dominant running game, as they accumulated 304 yards of rushing offense. The ground attack was spread out, as the Saints had 10 different players handle the ball from the backfield. Jonathan Cartier (Chatham, ON) lead the way for the Saints on the ground with 63 yards and a touchdown. Nathaniel Tyszkiewicz (Mississauga, ON) also played a big role for the Saints between the tackles as he accumulated 58 yards and a touchdown on only 4 carries. The Saints scored 5 rushing touchdowns in total from 5 different players as Jason Nuzum (Windsor, ON), Javier Lewis (Toronto, ON) and Jarrel Pappin (Mississauga, ON) all found the endzone for the Saints.

The Saints will now enjoy a bye week for Thanksgiving before hosting the OFC Semifinal at Acumen Stadium on October 15th. The #1 seeded St. Clair Saints will take on the Hamilton Hurricanes at 7:00pm for a berth in the OFC Championship game.
