Fratmen Advance to OFC Final after Home Playoff Win

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair Fratmen (9-0) won their Ontario Football Conference semi-final at Acumen Stadium Saturday night over the Quinte Skyhawks (2-7) by a score of 47-3 and will host the provincial final against the London Beefeaters on Nov. 20th at 7:00pm.  London defeated Hamilton 24-0 at home in the other semi-final today.

The Fratmen blocked a punt on Quinte's opening drive which led to a Jacob Savoni (Amherstburg, ON) 1-yard plunge and St. Clair was up 7-0 after a Jake Holloway (Franklin, Tennessee) convert.  The teams traded field position with Quinte conceding a safety and on the ensuing kickoff Dante Lewis (Windsor, ON) ran it back 87 yards for another major which led to a Holloway convert and a rouge single on the kick back.

St. Clair poured gas on the flames as quarterback Michael Beale (LaSalle, ON) linked up with Jared Hayes-Williams (Windsor, ON) for a 27-yard touchdown which was the first of three scores in second quarter between the pair.  Hayes-Williams later scored on a 20 and 48-yard receptions.  Savoni added a 4-yard touchdown and Holloway scored another rouge point in the frame while Quinte surrendered an additional safety as the Fratmen took a commanding 47-0 lead into the halftime intermission.

Quinte's only response in third quarter was a 42-year field goal that ended the shutout and the scoring between the teams.

Hayes-Williams finished with 5 receptions for a total of 114 yards and three scores to lead St. Clair in the win.  Beale threw his 3 touchdowns on 7 of 11 passing for 127 yards with Savoni gaining 76 yards on 8 carries including his 2 touchdowns in the contest.

The Fratmen defense picked off three Quinte passes which were swiped by Braeden MacDougall (Windsor, ON), Tenoa Alex (Baton Rouge, Louisiana) and Billy Patterson Jr. (Windsor, ON).

Holloway converted all five Framen touchdowns but broke up a pair of pass plays in the defensive backfield.
