Fratmen Enjoy Bye Week at 6-0

Brantford, ON – The St. Clair Fratmen are enjoying a week off after moving their OFC leading record to 6-0 following a 47-7 victory over the Hamilton Hurricanes (3-2) on Sunday at Bisons Alumni Field in Brantford.

The teams were slow out of the gate as Hamilton held the undefeated St. Clair team to their first scoreless quarter of the season. The Fratmen would not be held off the scoresheet for long however, as Michael Beale (LaSalle, ON) connected with Cody Holmes (Windsor, ON) for a 10-yard TD pass.  Shortly after, Jacob Savoni (Amherstburg, ON) ran it 11 yards for St. Clair's second touchdown of the game. The Fratmen kept things rolling offensively as Beale found Dante Lewis (Windsor, ON) for a 24-yard pass TD followed by a 15-yard pass to Holmes for his second touchdown of the game. Two conceded safeties, 3 converts and a kickoff single by kicker Jake Holloway (Franklin, Tennessee) had the Fratmen leading the Hurricanes 33-0 by the intermission.

The Fratmen tacked on 7 more points in the third quarter as Savoni ran in his league-leading 12th rushing touchdown of the season for his second major of the game.

With the outcome nearly decided the Fratmen and Hurricanes traded touchdowns in the 4th quarter for a final score of 47-7.  Beale linked on a 35-yard throw to Jared Hayes-Williams (Windsor, ON) for his 4th passing touchdown of the game.

Jacob Savoni (Amherstburg, ON) led the way offensively for the Fratmen with 196 yards and 2 touchdowns over his 24 carries which earned him OFC and CJFL Offensive Player of the Week honours for the second time this season.  Beale finished with 228 yards completing 16 of his 20 pass attempts to go along with the 4 TD's.

Leading St. Clair on the other side of the ball was defensive back Nathaniel Norton (Windsor, ON) who had 2 tackles and an impressive 3 interceptions returning the turnovers for 20 yards.  For his efforts, Norton was given OFC and CJFL Defensive Player of the Week recognition.

Holloway converted all six touchdowns while adding a kickoff single in the win.

After the bye week the Fratmen return home on October 31st (vs. GTA) and November 6th (vs. Hamilton) to complete their regular season slate.
