Wiseman Steps Down from St. Clair Women's Softball

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Athletics and Recreation Department is announcing that Doug Wiseman has resigned from his position as the Varsity Women's Softball Head Coach.

Wiseman began coaching in an assistant role in 2012 and was elevated to Head Coach taking over for Bill Smith in 2013.  In 11 seasons over 12 years at the helm he led the Saints to eight OCAA pennants while compiling a 200-43 (.823%) record and that led ten Provincial medals.  OCAA Gold came in 2014 along with back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023 to go with five silver and two bronze finishes.  Wiseman was recognized as the OCAA Coach of the Year on five occasions in 2013, 2017, 2018, 2021 and 2022.

At the national level he achieved seven medals as part of the Canadian Collegiate Softball Association (CCSA) tournament including three championships in 2015 and back-to-back in 2022 and 2023.  He also added a pair of silver and bronze medals at the CCSA event.  2022 was his finest season guiding St. Clair to a perfect 34-0 which is the only female program in school history to record an undefeated season.

Wiseman's combined exhibition, regular season and playoff record was 265-76-2 with a .777 winning percentage which incorporated a 59-32-2 (.648) post-season mark.  St. Clair has honoured him twice as the Inter-Collegiate Coach of Year in 2014-15 and again in 2022-23.
