Women's Softball Fall Twice in Oshawa

Oshawa, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Softball team lost two OCAA round robin games in Oshawa Sunday afternoon at Durham College and now have a 9-5 record which stands in a tie for 3rd Place.  The Saints lost 5-3 to host Durham followed by a 4-0 decision with Lambton (Sarnia).

St. Clair tied the opening game with Durham 2-2 in the 3rd inning and then again 3-3 in the 6th inning but surrendered the deciding runs in the bottom half.  Shae-Lyn Murphy (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) had a single and a double that scored a run while Danna Jaurez (Airdrie, AB) took the loss for the Saints after giving 5 runs on 10 hits but struck out 5 over 6 innings.

In the Lambton loss Murphy had three of St. Clair's six hits but none could produce a run.  Kirsten Kipfer (Mitchell, ON) was the starter for the Saints but was relieved by Jaurez in the 2nd inning after giving up two earned runs.  The St. Clair pitchers combined to only surrender a single hit, but base-on-balls produced enough runners the eventually scored.

The Saints come home next weekend for doubleheaders at the SportsPark against Conestoga College (Kitchener) on Saturday and Durham College (Oshawa) on Sunday.
