Men’s Baseball Drop Durham in Oshawa

Oshawa, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Baseball team won two games via mercy Saturday afternoon over Durham College in Oshawa at Kinsmen Civic Memorial Stadium by scores of 14-1 and 10-0.  The Saints are now 8-0 in OCAA league play and alone in 1st Place.

Rain in the Oshawa area delayed the start of the doubleheader about 30 minutes, but St. Clair was not fazed scoring six quick runs in the 1st inning of game one.  After the teams started the 2nd inning rain poured down again forcing another 15-minute delay.  Once play resumed the Saints continued to pass through the turnstiles adding five runs for firm control.  Durham got on the board in the 4th with a single run, but St. Clair tacked on three runs in the 5th to secure the mercy differential after holding the Lords scoreless in the bottom half.  Rowan Glasgow (LaSalle, ON/Sandwich) was 3-for-3 with a walk for the Saints adding 2 runs scored and 2 RBI.  Brock Whitson (Chatham, ON) threw five innings giving up a run on just two hits and struck out 8 batters for his 3rd win of the season.

St. Clair starter Brady Knelsen (Leamington, ON/Leamington) threw a 5-inning shutout in game two for St. Clair who posted his 3rd win of the season giving up 4 hits while striking out six.  The Saints scored two runs in the 2nd and 4th inning on either side of a 5-run 3rd before adding a single in the 5th to complete the scoring.  Kanaan Gale (Leamington, ON/Cardinal Carter) had two hits and two RBI in the St. Clair win.

The Saints finish their road trip on Sunday at Centennial College (Scarborough) with a doubleheader starting at 1:00pm.
