Men’s Baseball 12-1 After Taking Pair from George Brown

Toronto, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Baseball team now sit at 12-1 atop the OCAA standings after winning twice at Christie Pits Park in Toronto Sunday afternoon over George Brown College by scores of 13-1 and 6-5.

St. Clair's Tyler Brown-Amlin (Windsor, ON/Sandwich) did his best Ohtani impression in game one spinning a 1-hit six inning pitching performance to go with a 3-for-4 effort with his bat that included a homerun and two RBI.  His only stumbles allowed an earned run in the third inning with a pair of walks, but eight strikeouts certainly solidified a stellar performance on the mound. Up 3-1 after the third inning the Saints scored seven in the fifth and three in the sixth to secure the mercy.  Colin Robinson (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) was a big part of the offense whose two hits both cleared the fence for his league-leading fourth and fifth homeruns contributing to his 5-RBI game. Mitch McCosh (Belle River, ON/Belle River) reached base three times on two singles and a double that allowed him to score twice for the Saints.

Game two was far more competitive and George Brown battled back from several one and two run deficits to tie the game 5-5 in the fifth inning.  The Saints needed a Robinson RBI single in the seventh inning to take the final lead of the game and reliever Brock Whitson (Chatham, ON) earned his second win of the season after two innings of scoreless pitching down the stretch.  Carter Reh (Harrow, ON/Kingsville) put his team on his back offensively who was 4-for-4 including a homerun with three RBI and scored twice leading St. Clair at the plate in the contest.

The Saints come home for a doubleheader against Lambton College (Sarnia) Thursday night at Mic Mac Park's Cullen Stadium diamond starting at 5:00pm which will begin with a recognition ceremony for St. Clair graduating players before the opening pitch.
