Women's Indoor Soccer Off to Championships

The St. Clair College women's varsity indoor soccer team is headed to Vaughan to take part in the OCAA Championships on March 30 and 31 at the Ontario Soccer Centre.

The Saints qualified for the event by finishing first in the OCAA Regionals on March 9 at Redeemer University.

St. Clair will play three round robin games on March 30 against the University of Laurier Brantford, Fanshawe College and Lakehead University-Orillia.

The top two teams in each pool of four will advance to the semi-finals and medal games on March 31.

Third year keeper Natalie Turner (Windsor; Holy Names) will be a key player for the Saints. Turner did not allow any goals in the three matches at regionals.

On defense St. Clair will be led by fourth year player Ravneet Rana (Windsor; Riverside). The Saints will be looking for some offence from 5th year forward Cassie Nicholas (Windsor; Holy Names). Fourth year midfielder Ally Schooley (Tecumseh; Tecumseh Vista) is also expected to be an important role for St. Clair to do well.

St. Clair advanced to the Championship semifinals in March 2020 but the event was cancelled due to COVID 19 the morning of the semis.

The Saints won OCAA Gold in 2014-15 and Silver in 2016-17.
