Men's Soccer Fall to Fanshawe

Windsor, ON (Sept 17, 2021) The St. Clair men's soccer team opened their OCAA season with a tough 1-0 loss to the Fanshawe Falcons on Friday night at Acumen Stadium at the new Sportspark. There was a huge crowd on hand to cheer on the Saints in a game that could have gone either way.

The Saints got off to a slow start with Fanshawe's Jalen Loague scoring in the 13th minute of play on a strange bounce and somewhat lucky goal. The Saints settled down after that and played well but could not find the back of the Fanshawe net.

The Falcons had 14 shot attempts on goal while St. Clair was one behind with 13. St. Clair keeper Thomas Kogel (Windsor; St. Joseph's) made 7 saves while the Fanshawe keeper made 5. The Saints had the edge in corner kicks 6-5.

Midfield Noel Junior (Brazil) had a solid game for St. Clair along with defender Austin Severino (Kingsville; Kingsville District).

The Saints are next in action on Wednesday, September 22 when they travel to Sarnia to take on the Lambton Lions at 5 pm
