Men’s Basketball Win Big over Canadore

Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Basketball team won big Saturday afternoon at the SportsPlex by a score of 110-66 over Canadore College (North Bay) to move their OCAA West Division regular season record to 3-0.

The game was competitive in the early stages, but the Saints used an 11-3 run to close the first quarter and were ahead 24-14.  Canadore closed the gap to five points early in the second quarter and outshot St. Clair in the frame hitting five triples.  But that was as close as they would get the remainder of the game.  The Saints were up 52-36 by halftime and never looked back.  St. Clair was able to get to the basket for 60 points in the paint mostly off easy transition play and enjoyed plenty of minutes from their reserves outscoring the visitors 60-14 off the bench.

St. Clair's Miles Hall (Toronto, ON) came off the bench to score a game high 20 points and added 5 rebounds.  Jesiah Deerr (Whitby, ON) scored 15 points and cleared 10 rebounds for a double-double with teammate Shakael Pryce (Pickering, ON) recording 13 points for the Saints.  Tutu Jangati (Windsor, ON/Holy Names) reached double figures with 12 points and Chad Vincent-Simon (Scarborough, ON) chipped in with 10 points.  A notable game was turned in by 3rd year transfer guard Tim Steward (Detroit, MI) who had 7 assists and 6 rebounds while scoring 9 points in just 16 minutes of playing time for St. Clair.

Moses Orange (Scarborough, ON) scored 15 points for Canadore in the loss.

St. Clair will host Mohawk College (Hamilton) on Sunday Nov. 13th to close out the weekend homestand with tip time at 3:00pm.
