Men’s Basketball Face #1 Ranked VIU in National Championship Semi-Final
Etobicoke, ON – After a thrilling come from behind last second quarter final victory on Friday the St. Clair College Men's Basketball team has earned a shot at #1 ranked Vancouver Island University (Nanaimo, BC) in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association National Championship semi-final on Saturday. The Saints will tip that game at 6:00pm which is being hosted at Humber College (Etobicoke).
VIU has been the nation's top ranked team all season and compiled a perfect 17-0 record on their way to a Pacific Western Athletic Association Championship who earned their way into the semi-finals with a 92-80 victory over MSVU (Halifax, NS) on Friday. The Mariners are led by All-Canadian and CCAA Player of the Year Akoi Yuot (Calgary, AB) who ranked second in the PAC-WEST conference with a 22.1 points per game averaged with a 62.8% shooting percentage while adding 9.4 rebounds per contest. Cameron Gay (Ninemile Falls, Washington) made a remarkable nine triples on his way to a game high 32 points in their opening round win over MSVU on Friday.
