North Bay, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Basketball team picked up their second win in as many games with a 90-79 decision over Canadore College in North Bay Saturday afternoon.
St. Clair fell behind 16-14 after the opening quarter but flipped the second quarter in their favour (21-11) and led 35-27 by halftime. A competitive third frame saw the Saints pull ahead further at 59-49 before extending to their largest lead of 21 points (82-61) midway through the fourth which allowed the reserves to get some time.
Saints guard David Gomez Jr. (Pontiac, Michigan) led all scorers with 22 points while Chad Vincent-Simon (Scarborough, ON) posted 15 points to go with 7 rebounds and 3 assists. Terence Williams (Windsor, ON/Wayne Memorial) scored 11 points while Jalen Harmon (Ypsilanti, MI) chipped in with 10 points and 3 rebounds for St. Clair.
Aside from three throw shooting the Saints held a slight advantage in most statistical categories including shooting where they converted 53% of their attempts.
Ozzy Ibhawoh (Hamilton, ON) scored 19 points in a losing cause for Canadore.
St. Clair travels to London on Tuesday where they will continue their West Division schedule against Fanshawe College with an 8:00pm tip time.
