OCAA Provincial Championship Tournament Back at St. Clair

Windsor, ON – St. Clair College is ready to host the 2021 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association Women's Softball Provincial Championship tournament Oct. 21-23 which will be held on campus for the first time at the SportsPark diamond.  The Saints have hosted this event on four other occasions since the program's inception in 2002.  St. Clair most recently played host to the event in 2014 which was the last time the Saints won the OCAA crown. 

The 6-team event will feature a pair of sudden-death games on Thursday with the winners advancing to the final four double knock-out format Friday and Saturday.  St. Clair was the regular season champion with a 17-1 record and assumes the top seed with Humber College (Etobicoke) ranked #2 after a 13-3 regular season campaign.  3rd place Durham College (Oshawa) was 11-7 and faces 6th place Seneca College (North York) at 3:00pm on Thursday who went 3-15.  The 6:00pm game on Thursday includes 4th place Fanshawe College (London) who was 9-7 versus 5th place Conestoga College (Kitchener) sporting a 6-12 record. 

On Friday Humber will match-up against the highest remaining seed from Thursday's games at 11:00am while St. Clair will face the lowest remaining seed in the 1:00pm game.  Medal games conclude on Saturday with the Bronze at 10:00am and the Gold at 1:00pm.

October 22
11:00am - Game 3: Humber College (2nd) vs. highest remaining seed
1:00pm - Game 4:    St. Clair (1st) vs. lowest remaining seed
4:00pm - Game 5:    Loser Game 3 vs. Loser Game 4
6:00pm - Game 6:    Winner Game 3 vs. Winner Game 4

October 23
10:00am - OCAA Bronze Medal Game: Loser Game 6 vs. Winner Game 5
*Loser awarded Bronze, winner advances to Gold Medal Game

1:00pm - OCAA Gold Medal Game(s): Winner Game 6 vs. Winner Bronze Medal Game
*A second Gold Medal Game will be played at 3pm if necessary
