Saints Men’s Baseball Partially Suspended at Humber

Etobicoke, ON – The St. Clair College Men's Baseball team defeated Humber College 10-4 to open a doubleheader in Etobicoke Friday night but were suspended after six innings of play trailing 8-5 due to the park light curfew.

The opening game was a bit of a seesaw contest that saw the Saints ahead 4-3 after two innings.  A 3-run 4th inning followed by a 2-run 5th put St. Clair firmly in control at 9-3.  Humber scored a single in the 6th inning and the Saints completed the scoring in the 7th after tacking on a run.

Carter Reh (Harrow, ON) and Riley Briggs (Whitby, ON) each had two hits including a double with Hunter Appleyard (LaSalle, ON) and Brendan Renaud (Amherstburg, ON) each also collecting a pair of hits for St. Clair.  Reh had two RBI's with the Saints cracking 13 total hits in the game.  Rookie hurler Cameron O'Reilly (Moose Jaw, SK) came on in relief to take the win for St. Clair with four strong innings allowing just one run while spreading out four hits and a walk but overcame any trouble with a staggering nine strikeouts in short work.

Game two of the doubleheader will be rescheduled to a later date for its completion.

St. Clair will remain in the Toronto area overnight to complete the rain suspended game against Seneca College (North York) on Saturday afternoon.
