SPORTSPARK

The St. Clair College SportsPark celebrated its grand opening on November 17^th, 2020 and is a $26 million multi-sport facility featuring a soccer/football stadium, a baseball/softball diamond, an indoor 4-court tennis centre and a 4-court sand volleyball complex.  The facility is located on the southern portion of the campus viewable upon entry from the Herb Gray Parkway and steps from the main doors of the college.  A 50ft lit beacon is the gateway to the mall area and Alumni Way which is in the heart of the facility leading to the donor monument.  St. Clair College would like to thank the Windsor Family Credit Union, Domino’s Pizza CEO Michael Schlater, Barry and Stephanie Zekelman and Ace Acumen Academy for their financial support toward the project.

Acumen Stadium

This LED lit stadium features artificial turf, comfortable individual backed seating for 1,500 spectators with stair or ramp accessibility and a climate-controlled press box.  The field is the home of the Saints women’s and men’s varsity soccer teams as well as the St. Clair Fratmen Football franchise.  Dressing rooms (2), official rooms (2) and a trainer’s room is found under the stadium seating along with public washrooms (3) and full concession facing east near the spectator entrances. 

A 357 square foot multisport outdoor scoreboard is located on the west side of the field and will allow for live video replay, virtual scoring, messaging and sponsorship opportunities.  The 25’ x 14’ LED display enhances the experience for the spectators, players and coaches.  This state-of-the-art unit is large enough to enjoy clear viewing during the day or at night in addition to live action scoring and timing. 

Zekelman Tennis Centre

The Zekelman Tennis Centre at St. Clair College is a 4-court Air-Conditioned facility featuring DecoTurf® along with PlaySight Interactive Smart Courts.  A pro-shop, concession/lounge, male/female change spaces along with coach meeting rooms are found on the first floor.  An upper mezzanine on the second floor overlooks all courts with a warm-up/fitness area behind the comfortable seating perch. 

Softball Diamond

The home of the Saints Varsity Women’s Softball team is an LED lit diamond with a full artificial turf playing surface that features spacious home and away sheltered player benches connected by an attractive short brick wall in the backstop area.  Bleacher seating behind the backstop netting can accommodate 289 patrons putting spectators on top of the play.  A berm past the outfield fence stretches from left centre field to right field providing another crowd-pleasing view of the action.  Connected to each player bench are bullpen areas for pre-game or in-game pitcher preparation.  A spacious climate-controlled press box overlooks the diamond directly behind home plate above the bleacher seating.  A large 25’ x 7’ scoreboard with LED inning by inning digital display is located over the left field fence.  Outfield fence dimensions from home plate are 200’ in left and right field, 210’ in left and right centre and 220’ to direct centre field.

Beach Volleyball

This fenced LED lit 4-court complex has additional protective netting surrounding all play.  The facility is suitable for recreational as well as tournament/league play from spring to fall.  Overlooking the courts is a fully functional concession/bar area with picnic table seating, public washrooms and outdoor sand removal showers.
