Women's Soccer Earn Tie on the Road

Sarnia, ON (Sept 20, 2022) The St. Clair women's soccer team earned their first point of the season on Tuesday night in Sarnia where they took on Lambton College. The Saints earned a 1-1 draw against the Lions.

The Saints had a great first half but only came away with a 1-0 lead. Marissa Ouellette (Harrow; Kingsville District) put one past the Lions keeper in the 25th minute. St. Clair had 14 shot attempts in the half while Lambton had 3. Seven of those 14 attempts were on goal while Lambton had no shots on target. The Saints also had 7 corner kicks compared to none for the Lions.

The second half was a much closer half and Lambton snuck one in off the post in the 65th minute to tie the game. Lambton had 9 shot attempts in the half while St. Clair had 6. St. Clair keeper Athena Dimario Done (Windsor; St. Joseph's) stopped 6 of the 7 shots she faced in the second half while the Lambton goalie turned away all 7 shots she saw.

The Saints are now 0-1-2 on the season and Lambton is 0-2-2. The West Division standings are very tight early on with 7 more games remaining for St. Clair.
