Men's Soccer Win Big on the Road

Sarnia, ON (Sept 21, 2022) The St. Clair men's soccer team travelled to Sarnia on Wednesday evening to take on the Lambton Lions in their first road game of the season. The Saints came away with a convincing 7-0 win.

Carlos DaGloria Junior (Leamington; Cardinal Carter) started the scoring for the Saints in the 14th minute on a pass from Zain Nizam (Windsor; Kennedy). Zain put the Saints up 2-0 in the 27th  minute. St. Clair dominated play for most of the first half with 20 shot attempts compared to 2 for Lambton along with a 7-2 corner kick advantage.

Unfortunately for the Lions they lost their starting keeper late in the first half on an accidental collision with a St. Clair player.

The Saints continued their strong play in the second half and took advantage of Lambton losing their starting keeper putting 5 more goals into the Lambton net including a couple late ones in injury time. Zain Nizam added 2 more goals along with Mateo Grahovac (Windsor; Riverside) , Nestor Lopez (Windsor; Brennan) and Alex Artico (Windsor; Brennan)

Rookie keeper Malic Nedjelko (Windsor; Sandwich) earned the clean sheet turning away all three shots on goal he faced.

With the win St. Clair's record improved to 2 wins and a loss while Lambton fell to 1-3. The St. Clair men are currently ranked 9th in the OCAA after a huge drop from 2nd last week after losing to top ranked Humber this past weekend.
