Men's Soccer Start Season with Convincing Win

Windsor, ON - The St. Clair men's soccer team opened their OCAA regular season with a convincing 6-0 win over the Mohawk Mountaineers (Hamilton) at Acumen Stadium on Friday night.

The Saints got off to a great start when Zain Nizam (Windsor; Kennedy) buried one in the back of the net in the 10th minute of play on a nice shot from the wing. St. Clair went up 2-0 in the 15th minute on a nice goal by Rily Drkulec (Belle River; St. Anne's) from long range.

Moussa Nizam (Windsor; Kennedy) put St. Clair up 3-0 in the 21st minute winning a battle in front of the goal.  Matteo Grahovac (Windsor; Riverside) made it 4-0 in the 40th minute on a header from a corner kick by Massimo Pollard (Windsor; Holy Names)

Moussa Nizam scored in the 54th minute to make it 5-0 with twin brother Zain finishing the scoring in the 86th minute to make it a 6-0 final.

Keeper Jonathan Rondinelli (Windsor; Riverside) had a quiet night in goal earning the clean sheet with 1 save. It was a solid all round effort for the Saints with some outstanding defensive and midfield play throughout the match.

The Saints are back in action on Saturday September 17 when the host the top ranked Humber Hawks at Acumen Stadium at 6 pm.
