Golf Teams Solid At Georgian Invitational

(Sept 23, 2022) Barrie, ON- The St. Clair College men's and women's varsity golf teams took part in their second event of the season on Thursday at the Georgian College Invitational at Heritage Hills Golf Club near Barrie. It was a very tough day for golf with cold, wet and windy conditions.

The men's team was the 4th place OCAA team with a score of 327. For the men, five golfers play with the best four scores counting.  John Van Bilsen (Glencoe; Glencoe District) had a great day for the Saints shooting a 75 which tied him for third place.

The women's team finished the event in 2nd place with a team score of 179. For the women, three golfers can play with the best two scores counting. Shannon Coffey (Windsor; FJ Brennan) was the top Saint shooting an 89 finishing in 4th place individually on a course that was very difficult and long for the women. The low female score was 83.

The Saints are next in action at the Niagara College Invitational at Legends Golf Club on Monday, September 26. The OCAA Championship is being hosted by Niagara College in Niagara Falls at Legends Golf Club from October 3-5.
