St. Clair Represented Well in OCAA Men’s Basketball Awards

Windsor, ON – St. Clair's David Gomez Jr. (Pontiac, MI) was named a CCAA All-Canadian Tuesday after the OCAA released the Men's Basketball Awards in addition to earning a West Division 1st Team All-Star selection.  Jalen Harmon (Ypsilanti, MI) was also a West Division All-Star after being named to the 2nd Team while Jesiah Deerr (Whitby, ON) was selected the West Division's 6th Man of the Year for the Saints.

Gomez Jr. is a 5th year transfer guard and becomes a 3-time OCAA All-Star selection for St. Clair as well as the program's third ever All-Canadian recipient which makes him the first Saint since David Korenic accomplished the feat in 2010.  Jimmy Parsons was the other All-Canadian for St. Clair in 1998.  Gomez Jr. averaged 21.8 points per game during the regular season which was ranked 7th in the OCAA to go with 3.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.  Gomez currently sits 7th on the all-time St. Clair College scoring list.

Harmon is a 4th year transfer swing player that averaged 14.1 points per game but contributed greatly on both ends of the floor helping the Saints to a West Division 2nd place finish with a 7-2 record in the regular season (OCAA 2nd Ranked).

Deerr is a 3rd year transfer guard that led the team in rebounds (8.3 per game, T-10th OCAA) off the bench to go with his 13.1 points per game.

All three players study in St. Clair's Sport and Recreation Management program academically.

The St. Clair Men's Basketball team travel to Humber College (Etobicoke) to face Redeemer University College (Ancaster) in the semi-finals of the OCAA Final Four Provincial Championship which will tip at 8:00pm on Wednesday.
